SUSAN TYNE - Dancer, Choreographer, Teacher, Examiner, Therapist
RAD Tech Dip & Examiner / OCR Pilates Instructor / BSY Adv Yoga / IDTA Assoc
I have danced through my life journey since I was 3yrs old. Inspired by my love of movement which comes from an inner passion to communicate, using a variety of medium to enhance the story or emotion I wished to portray. Be it music, visual, words or life's experiences.
I was inspired from an early age by my grandmother Dorothy Tyne, who told wonderful stories of Anna Pavlova and Dorothy's teacher Alexandra Baldina-Kosloff, who was a dear friend of Pavlova's.

My ballet journey started in Cyprus and move to the UK when I was 8yrs. Here in the UK my love of dance was inspired and nurtured by Beryl Jarvis in Reading. At the age of ten, I auditioned and was selected to train full time at the prestigious Bush Davies School in Sussex, under the guidance of Noreen Bush and Joy Camden.
Since leaving Bush Davies I have primarily been teaching dance. For some fifteen years I was Director of Bomballet Community Dance Company. Now much of my time is spent as an Examiner for the Royal Academy of Dance and I teach regularly in both the United Kingdom and Cyprus. I also provide freelance teaching, choreography, workshops and dance as a therapy to aid communication, emotional release, improve motor skills and, channel energy in connection with behavioural difficulties, physical & mental disabilities. I pull on my skills in the field of Ballet, Pilates, Jazz, Contemporary, Creative and ethnic disciplines to inspire and enhance my work in whatever environment I find myself working.
I believe that dance is a holistic medium. The movement may only use the flutter of an eyelid or it may encompass the whole body. Whatever your ability, you can dance.
It is only the very few who find greatness in the public eye, but each one of us can find greatness within through the joy of dance.
Journey
By Susan Tyne 2010
My journey through dance thus far
Has taken me to stage, theatre, festival and TV from barre
Working alongside musician, band and orchestra
Of writers and poets words come alive, visually heard
Of photographer and painter the canvas has stirred
In fashion, dance excites deliverance of designer's world
I have walked the boards of educational halls
Of hospital wards, day care and party balls
My dancing miles have seen so very many floors
In performance, choreography, class and workshop
Old, young and in between all be-bop be-bop
Moved emotions and stories, danced till they stop
Exploration of shape, style, era, ethnic and more
With, without make up, lights, props and decor
To silence, sound or a vocal call
At times I have watched while sat in chair
Ballet dancers from here there and everywhere
Plies, pirouettes, ports de bras, jetes devant and derriere
Be it ballet, belly, staid or wacky
I have been thus far so very lucky
My dance has kept my soul plucky
With so very much more I want to do
Before my life is withered and thro
Surely this is only the start of a fresh inspirational day anew
Like the fragile bud of a flower
Or the strong tall tree tower
Dance itself speaks, a holistic glow-er
So take off your shoes let your heart prance
What ever your moves feel enhanced
The joy and release you too now can dance
Dance in a circle, dance just for two under star lit skies and the moon
Dance in a crowd, dance all alone deep in your head, your space, your room
Dance with your eyes dance on your toes feel the heart beat resounding boom
